Yesterday at work I was assigned a task that is driving me CRAZY!!!!!!!!!
No need to go into too many details, but this morning at work I couldn't handle it. I literally had to go walk around the building for 15 minutes to get away. When I returned, I got a phone call from someone I had been told to contact regarding this project. He was the first helpful, logical person I had talked to and I was SO happy and he was SO helpful.
I later realized that I had been trying to get in touch with someone from our General Counsel's office to discuss my doing a rotation with them, to no avail. This guy I'd just talked to works for the General Counsel's office! So I emailed him and told him my situation, and he said he'd make it happen.
It (on a very small scale) reminded me of the Jaredites in the book of Ether, whose journey through stormy seas brought them to the promised land.
Oh Rachel, how I love you! It's amazing how the Lord works.
ReplyDeleteSorry for copying the quote from my gChat status, but it definitely applies:
"No pain we suffer, no trial we experience is wasted. It ministers to our education, to the development of such qualities as patience, faith, fortitude and humility. All that we suffer...when we endure it patiently, builds up our characters, purifies our hearts, expands our souls, and makes us more tender and charitable, more worthy to be called the children of God...and it is through sorrow and suffering, toil and tribulation, that we gain the education that we come here to acquire.” (Orson Whitney)
That's how you can tell a true scriptorian...making connection like that in day to day experiences. I need to read my scriptures more!! Kudos to you :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you saw a positive in the situation. Like I always say... working/the "real world" is so overrated.
ReplyDeleteI hope this means things are significantly better. Hopefully, your contact in the General Counsels office will follow through.
