Eating Contest pictures are supposedly forthcoming, though the previews I have seen are not things I really want to share online. And SJ, we just had cheese pizza. and I still will never eat pizza again!!!
If you will recall we had round II of the eating contest last Thursday: Orange slices. Michael had just spent a week being ridiculed for losing to a girl, so he was in it to win it and I was concerned about my competition. After spending $80 on produce at Costco, I had a variety of fruit and vegetable options for our dozen plus spectators and sliced up eleven oranges for each of the competitors.
After five minutes of competitive eating, Michael looked up at the score board and saw I was doubling him. And that was basically the end. Michael put up a good fight, but he might not have realized that the six oranges I downed in six minutes was about normal for me. I LOVE FRUIT!!
This was all worth it to avoid round III: chicken nuggets. GROSS!!!
In unrelated news...
- I finished Anna Karenina and just watched the War and Peace movie and feel like I have to close this Tolstoy chapter of my life. Last night at Institute we were talking about how idols are anything you put above God, and I thought "sometimes I want to read Tolstoy instead of my scriptures." UH OH. Good thing I finished?
- On Friday I am flying to Phoenix for law school best friend Stacey's wedding! After the sealing we are all going to the movie Cowboys and Aliens. And yes, Stacey will be watching it in her wedding dress. Keep your eye on facebook for picture updates.
- and next week I am heading to Austin for Murdock Family Reunion 2011. But I didn't order matching shirts yet! AHH! Suggestions??????????????????
Maybe we will all get UT shirts to celebrate being in Texas. Can't wait to see you! And BTW, I am grossed out by a pizza-eating contest, but I wouldn't mind the privilege of eating several sliced oranges in one sitting. That is tempting.

ReplyDeleteI am up in the middle of the night with acid reflux, and I visited your blog to check if there's anything new. I knew about the contests, have read this before, and everything, but this time it nearly killed me. What stamina you have to not even pay for it later, I am currently in awe . . . Can't wait to hear about your Texas trip!
