Thanksgiving

There is a quote from President Hinckley that has stuck with me: "Like the polar star in the heavens, regardless of what the future holds, there stands the Redeemer of the world, the Son of God, certain and sure as the anchor of our immortal lives. He is the rock of our salvation, our strength, our comfort, the very focus of our faith. In sunshine and in shadow we look to Him, and He is there to assure and smile upon us."

I love that last line: "In sunshine and in shadow we look to Him, and He is there to assure and smile upon us." It seems that it is often around Thanksgiving that trials come our way, causing us to wonder what we can be thankful for. Undoubtedly this year is no different than others in that regard. But I am grateful that, through this search for gratitude, I am once again reminded of the thing for which I am most grateful, and indeed, the thing for which I can always be grateful.

So this year and always, I am thankful for my relationship with my Heavenly Father.

  2. I love your post! You are oh so kind to me. :) I can't wait to see you. Call me when you come, we aren't going anywhere this Christmas. My parents serve in the MTC call center 5 days a week. They like it pretty good, some days more than others. I love you, Happy Thanksgiving!

  3. good point girl. I hope your "around Thanksgiving trials" are short-lived. And if there's anything I can do, let me know.
