2004: single no more
2005: husbands arrive
2006: no dating for kicks
2007: bound on earth; bound in heaven
2008: no one to date
(optional: marriage is great)
At midnight on New Year's Eve I toasted to my roommates and friends that our year theme be:
2009: It's About Time!
Whether it be marriage (which is evidently the theme here) or anything else you want to accomplish in your life--2009 is your year! Make it happen!
Keep me posted.
As my mom used to say, "Don't be in a hurry to get married because you are going to be married for along time." I like Susan Kinny's advice: wait until you find someone who won't be happy until you are happy.
ReplyDeleteI quit, again. Me and Obama I guess. Your refusal to join in is probably helpful. Good luck to us all.
ReplyDeleteI love the theme. :)
ReplyDeleteIf 2009 involves "Dish" emails from you then it sounds like it will be a great year!
Rachel, I'm raising my glass to your toast. I can't believe you are working in the temple, brave soul. Way to go! We are ranking the DC program really high, so here's hoping that 2009 brings me closer to you :) That sounds like a cheesy country song. Here's hoping!
ReplyDeleteI'm SO glad the theme concept isn't dead.
ReplyDeleteIf only we had one freshman year.
Do not think I'm copying when I do a post today on yearly themes - I wrote in my mind two weeks ago while I was trying to fall asleep . . . you are simply brilliant.
ReplyDeleteOh, and nice going with a slant rhyme.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say you haven't accomplished your goals. Husbands DID arrive in 2005, and no one to date seems very possible . . . I'm sure you've gotten all of your themes, we just have to examine a little. And, um, picking up sticks doesn't rely too much on circumstances.
