March

I see I did not blog at all in March! Yikes! Here is a brief run-down:

I went to Idaho to see nephew Harris get baptized and then spent a few days in Utah. I love that Harris kid so much and was so glad that last minute priceline gambling and my bff Krystal's willingness to chauffeur my mom and me to Idaho Falls made it possible. After the trip I went straight from the airport to work at the temple and that was great way to remember how great life is in DC, too.

A week and a half later I went to Texas for the weekend. Russell picked me up at DFW and drove me to Austin (got kolaches on the way!) and then after forgetting to pack green clothes for St Patricks Day, my dad and John drove me to Houston to see Gillian who just moved there and is very pregnant!!

I came back from Texas and a week and a half later went to Europe!! I arrived in Vienna on the morning of March 31st and spent the final hours of the day at the opera seeing L'elisir d'amore. You could get standing tickets for only 4 Euro that were actually amazing seats. You just had to stand the whole time. I was standing there and my feet were on fire and I had been awake for 32 hours but then the tenor sang Una furtiva lagrima and when he finished the audience yelled BRAVO! and then applauded for literally 90 seconds. It was the greatest opera moment of my life, and that is saying a lot. Oh how I want to go back and just spend my entire time at the opera. It was incredible.

Anyway, that was March. Sneak preview for April: I went to the Czech Republic and could not find any kolaches, even though I got them twice from Czech towns in Texas.
