graduation

Today is graduation at BYU. I graduated seven years ago!!!! That is nuts.

I was lucky enough to graduate with my bff Krystal. We just sat and talked/slept through most of it. When it was our turn, they had us go to the side of the Marriott Center and get our picture taken in this tunnel before we actually had our names read. As we are walking back to the tunnel, I see my buddy Jeff standing there in a cap and gown. Jeff came to see us graduate, and was a sophomore in college. In my hazy state I was super confused, and then Jeff laughed and said "I'm going to graduate with you!"

See, the Psychology dept was so big they just handed you a piece of paper where you wrote your name and gave it to someone to read as you walk across the stage. You don't get your real diploma either--just a diploma holder. So all you need is a cap and gown to "graduate" during the ceremony. Jeff somehow found this cap and gown stashed in the Marriott Center.

Anyway, everyone who came was surprised to hear Jeff's name read after mine! Bethany was super surprised when she came to snap our picture and saw this:



Quite possibly the hardest I've ever laughed in my life. After this picture Jeff ran out of there.

Luckily, five years later Jeff and I again graduated together (from law school)...but that one was legitimate. I think...
