While in Utah, Jackie threw me a great party. Here are some of pictures of the lingering guests:
It was amazing. Jackie made dinner for over 30 of my friends, organized a white elephant gift exchange (which was hilarious) and a dance party and a slumber party! Party of the year!!!! Thanks, girl!
After the party I drove up to Idaho and got to spend 9 days there. For any interested, after today James only has ONE MORE DAY of chemo and his last blood test looked like he was cancer-free. Check out their blog for more details: http://murdocksandsons.blogspot.com/
Idaho was fun and I got to spend lots of time with their three boys. We went to McDonalds (where 2-year old Will got picked on by some kids at the playground, but luckily he was able to spin the story and tell his parents how he beat up all of the kids and made them nice), saw The Princess and the Frog (where we luckily had the theater to ourselves so we could be loud and eat lots of candy--and Will made me proud by rejecting my candy and asking where the "chocolate bears" were. I love chocolate covered cinnamon bears!), and played charades (who knew every movie entails lots of kicking and fighting?).
I feared that after spending a week with children I would be exhausted and would never want to have kids, etc, etc. But I never felt that way once. Great news!
It was great to see you, and I'm glad your trip went well.
ReplyDeleteAnd how awesome is a cancer-free diagnosis? I'm thrilled!
What a great sister and aunt you are! Did you get the minivan for your brother yet? Also the swan mobiles hanging at your friend's house were awesome.
ReplyDeleteGreat news about your brother! I'm so glad you were able to spend a few days with his famiy. I am sure they loved every minute of you there. Also, from previous experience I can tell you that nieces and nephews won't make you not want to have children (well, that does happen sometimes), but just wait until you get called to serve in the nursery at church--that will do it every time! :)
ReplyDeleteDid you know you can go to Winco at get chocolate covered cinnamon bears from the bulk bins at a fraction of the cost? Just want to entice you back . . .
ReplyDeleteSO sad to have missed the big party. I am not hip at all.
As for your bro, been stalking his blog. So glad this thing is looking to be almost over!
You are the best auntie ever, and I'm so glad that our rascals didn't permanently scare you away from having children. That would be sad, and it might not be the first time someone has walked away from spending time with our family with that perspective! Love you tons.
