Last year at the Law School Prom I was delighted to see Eric there! He had brain surgery and had to quit his job, so we hadn't seen him in a while. He and his dad were sitting alone in the back of the room. My friends and I grabbed our drinks and switched tables so we could sit with him. It was great. Eric won an award and got a standing ovation from every person in that room and it brought tears to all of our eyes.

Just got word that Eric passed away. He was a great man and an example to us all. He will be greatly missed.
I wish I had known him, and it's nice to know you were able to see him for who he was.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Amen to all you said. Sometimes his was the only smiling face around the law school. (Well, besides yours, Rachel.)
ReplyDeleteWe'll miss him!
Jeff will be interested in this- I remember Jeff telling me about how sweet he was! Thanks for posting the update. That is a great picture, too.
ReplyDeleteHe was wonderful. Sad that this year begins the first year that there will be people at the law school that don't have the pleasure of knowing Eric.
ReplyDeleteHe was such a dear man. Hearing that really choked me up. He was such an example of dedication and cheery attitude. He really was the best of us at the J. Reuben Clark.
ReplyDeleteHe will be missed.
