VOMATRON

My first week of work, one of my co-workers told me how her husband couldn't find anyone to ride "The Vomatron" with him and I ought to do it. Of course, at this point in time the Australian accent sounded a bit like Spanish to me, so I agreed and didn't really understand. Then later everyone was talking and I realized the fear...the name of the ride is VOMATRON! Eww. But yes - 10 weeks later it finally happened!

Here I am getting off the ride - a bit ill?

Of course I mostly rode it for the free t-shirt.

Also, I had been getting cocky about my map-reading/navigation/sense of direction skills. I had yet to really get lost in Australia. But thankfully, on Saturday I was humbled. While out running, I got distracted by a park and a swing set. After swinging for a bit and contemplating how my life was indeed perfect, I took off in what I thought was the direction of my apartment...but no worries. I finally got home an hour and a half later.

Yesterday I headed off to church with $5. Unbeknownst to me, they had upped the busfare by $.10, meaning that I was $.20 short for my ride home. I thought I'd give it a shot, and after church told the busdriver where I needed to go and said I only had $2.40 to which he replied "well, it's actually gonna cost $2.60. Guess you'll have to go find some more money somewhere" and he drove off. Hmm. This reminded me of when my credit card got rejected at McDonalds multiple times. It's time to go home!
