Twenty-five??

Remember when 25 seemed so old? Well, it still does! Twenty-five?!? How did this happen? This year, as members of the illustrious ’81 Club have been forced into the ranks of the “Quarter-Century Club”, I am really just baffled. 25. wow. I feel like I’m 19. or maybe even younger. I guess the upside to all of this is that I have successfully fulfilled my mother’s wish of not getting married before I was 25…

To celebrate my birthday, I decided to do three things that I wanted to do but that are difficult for me:

1. I woke up at 5 a.m. and ran to the beach to see the sunrise. Amazing.

2. I asked my boss if I could use one of the firm’s cars this weekend. No worries – he had already mentioned to me I could use a car sometime! It wasn’t that gutsy! And I wanted to use one this weekend because Elder Scott is coming to our stake conference and you can’t get to the stake center via bus. Plus, my friend who is working in Sydney for the summer is coming up this weekend, and we’re gonna check out the Gold Coast!

3. I invited my co-worker to come to stake conference to hear an apostle speak. She said she’s interested in coming.

Thus far, the best birthday of my life. All that is lacking is the best part of my birthday last year…my friend Chad gave me the present that I’d always secretly dreamed of receiving: chocolate covered raspberries. Wow – they were SOOOO good. Too bad it’s Australia’s winter – but maybe I can go find some berries after work. And, today we’re having a morning tea at work for my birthday! Sweet!
