Eating Contest

I'm not sure how it happened. Maybe it was one day at a meeting when I saw my co-worker bff Michael easily down 6 donuts. Maybe it was when we went to IHOP for lunch and I saw him eat a LOT of all-you-can-eat pancakes. Maybe it was when he talked about how he enjoys competitive eating for fun on the weekends. But somehow, someway, I challenged him to an eating contest.

This has been the talk of work for months now as our neutral arbitrator has debated and discussed what the food item of our challenge should be. It is universally agreed that I cannot win. It is also universally agreed that every one of our co-workers is going to come and watch.

Luckily I have some experience. As it was openly acknowledged that I have the upper hand when it comes to produce and Michael has the advantage when it comes to ANYTHING ELSE, we are doing best 2 out of 3. The first round will be pizza at Michael's house; the second will be oranges at mine. If it comes to round three, we will have to battle over dreaded chicken nuggets. UGH!

Two weeks ago we had a pizza party at work and I had two tiny slices of cheese pizza and felt ill. Michael did not have that problem. Any tips would be appreciated.

So if you're free July 21st or 28th, let me know. Attendees get to eat our leftovers.

  1. What time on the 28th?

I've always heard you should eat a big breakfast early on Thanksgiving so your stomach is stretched out and can fit more. Never really tried it, though.
