We had a mini-law school reunion. Kari ordered ribs. She didn't understand that ribs are not a dainty food to eat and sometimes look like something from The Flintstones. I had an unfortunate experience with ribs at Medieval Times and can never eat them again.

I went up to Salt Lake for a day and had my cousin Julia show me around Grandma's house. If only I had a job in Salt Lake and $500,000, I would totally buy the house. But for now they are giving it a makeover and it looks awesome but I almost started crying when I walked in the front room and saw this:

Here's where the piano was:

And the first floor hallway:

They have yet to replace the basement's 70's wood paneling, but I'm assured it will happen soon. Maybe by then I'll have saved enough for a down payment...
A lot more great stuff happened in Utah, but I didn't take any pictures. Though I might add I am kind of anti-pictures during the great parts of life, because I think they can detract from the fun sometimes. Anyway...other Utah highlights were Freshman Year Reunion at the Cougareat (I love it!), Dinner with Corey & The Waites from Austin, seeing all of my bffs and their husbands/kids (and realizing all of my friends are married...), going to Gillian's first grade class, etc, etc, etc, etc. I miss Utah.
Then I drove up to Idaho Falls to see James (who I hadn't seen for 5 days since he left DC...guess I should blog about that too?).
I got to see Harris play football (who knew 6 year olds played football?), Jack play soccer, and James coach soccer!

Will already loved the Droid, and was happy when I showed him that it can take pictures! He showed me how to pose and then laughed a lot as he took some shots.

Will handed the camera over for me to try.

How I love them!

Notably lacking pictures of beloved Emily and Anna, the smiliest baby I've ever seen in my life!
I was super sad to leave Idaho Falls...mostly because I missed my family, but also because I had to take a red-eye flight and go straight to work (three hours late). But I did and it worked out great, except for I woke up sick Tuesday morning. Lame!
Your grandma's house is looking amazing! I want it! Now about that 500,000....hmm...
ReplyDeleteCome back to Utah soon. One afternoon in the park is not enough. Next time we do girls night out while the husbands watch the babies!
Must be sad to see the memories go (and what happened to my encyclopedias?!), but your grandma's house looks awesome. Also your hair looks cute in that picture with James. Also I never told you that I love Midievel Times and the only time I went there the Knight gave me his rose. Which is pretty much unrelated. I'm glad you had fun on your trip. Or . . . this is where I'm contrary . . . Oh, so your trip was too short? Some people don't even have a trip, and instead they have to dig turnips all day long!
ReplyDeleteLooks like an amazingly fun trip. I love meeting up with old BFF's; you're so lucky. I am definitely wanting your grandma's beautiful big house, but I'm wanting that beautiful big plate of ribs even more. Where can I get my hands on a rack of those?
