Florida!

For months Chad has been trying to organize a trip to the Florida Keys, and we finally went! We met up in Miami and enjoyed the beach there before heading down to Key West. It was an awesome trip. Our friends Jill and Rustin came, too...and Chad's teen brother!

Of course Chad rented an Escalade...I completely associate Escalades with drug dealers, but it was still pretty nice.

Luckily Chad's 15-year old brother Jason came. I love him! I mentioned to Chad that I felt like Jason was MY brother and he said "he is." Here we are watching a sunset wedding at some ghetto motel in the middle of the Keys. The wedding had about 3 guests. But the sunset was great!

Had to stop during our drive down the Keys for this photo shoot. Rustin entitled it "Honey I Shrunk The Kids, part 18"

We ate at Waffle House. twice.

Chad bought the matchie scratchies for this trip...which might be obvious that a boy picked them out if you look closely. Also note that Jill is not used to traveling with us and walked away from the photo shoot!

I love hammocks!

Loved the breakfast part of our Bed & Breakfast in Key West. The owner said we were so much nicer and better looking than most of his guests. haha.

Pre-church breakfast on the patio outside.

Our bed & breakfast was right next to the southernmost point in the U.S.! I am excited that I get to travel the other direction when I head to Alaska next month.

We ate a LOT of Key Lime Pie...at least six times. It was all pretty delicious.

Key Lime Pie on a stick is awesome.

Love it!

Here we are in 2000 when Jason was 6...Jason brought this picture with him on the trip, and we had to re-create it for our ten year reunion!

Their brother Stephen is on a mission, so Rustin had to sit in his place. I LOVE Jason's imitation of his 6-year old face:

If you had told me ten years ago that in a decade I'd still be single and traveling with Jason as my peer, I never would have believed you...here's hoping that by 2020 we've all moved on!

  1. So glad you had fun! P.S. Have I told you that I LOVE the Waffle House?! So jealous you ate there multiple times!

  2. Driving an Escalade and eating at Waffle House: both make me laugh. In Euless, people avoided Waffle House because of its shady nature. So glad Chad got in the itchy-scratchy spirit. I still want to meet Elder Alred before he gets released from TSAM. Great pictures.
