"I Hope Tomorrow is Like Today" -- Guster

A couple weeks ago I was talking to my friend about how much I love the band Guster and wanted to see them in concert. The next day I saw that they were playing in Reading, PA THAT SATURDAY! I emailed a few people I thought might like Guster and we decided to go. The trip was DOUBLY enticing since we decided to go to Philadelphia on the way.

First stop: Cheesesteaks

There are two competing, famous cheesesteak places across the street from each other. Their lines were out of control, and we got in the back of the line in the middle of the intersection. Worth it! Luckily some native Philadelphian was in line in front of us and he could tell us how to order and to just walk up and say "pepper cheese wit," hand them $8 and step back since you'd have your sandwich within 15 seconds. It was amazing. And delicious!
Ben and Janelle are my friends who ended up coming to PA. Janelle loves Guster, Ben hadn't ever heard of them but loves fun. We had a blast.

Next stop: Liberty Bell!
So, we saw the Rocky Stairs and it was wonderful. Here is the statue that they give Rocky in Rocky III and was at the top of the stairs for a while after Rocky III but then they removed it (kind of tacky at a classy art museum?) but put it back to the side of the stairs to commemorate "Rocky Balboa" (aka Rocky VI) in 2006. Love it.
Then we had to head back to historic Philadelphia to get in to Independence Hall.
After hitting the Philadelphia highlights, we drove the hour to Reading for GUSTER. We loved Reading. It was small and quiet and cute. Here we are excited for the concert!!!!
And, the highlight of the evening: GUSTER!!!!!!!!!! The entire time I couldn't stop watching the drummer. He's so good! It really was the perfect day!
Sadly they never play at their concerts my favorite song, "I hope tomorrow is like today." But at least we could listen to it in the car a lot?

  1. If I'm ever drafting a constitution, or even a city land use ordinance, I want one of those chairs from Independence Hall.

    Inspiring.
