More NYC

I guess I already discussed the best part of my weekend in NYC--PACHA!--and the only reason we actually went. But after our late night dancing, we still had two more days to enjoy the city and the glorious weather!! It was in the 40s and we were loving life.

Here's a picture of me being ridiculous during our Central Park photo shoot.

So Saturday morning what do you do in NYC besides have brunch? I met up with a hodge podge of random friends who live in NYC and are now actually all friends, too. Deana was quickly initiated into the group.

I stayed at my friend Lexi's apartment. Lexi had to go to work Saturday morning and missed brunch. We went back to her apartment for a bit after eating and Jill was playing with the Rubik's cube and look at what happened:

Maybe it's not that funny, but it was to me! Luckily Deana was able to fix it.

The we were able to see STOMP for $20, which had been a dream of Deana's since she was 7! Wow! After STOMP, we ate a lot of food. NYC has amazing food. I had heard from Jill that she ate the best chicken in her entire life at some random Dominican restaurant way north. So eight of us girls took off and got lost in a very, very sketchy part of town. Luckily Jill safely got us to the restaurant, and the chicken was good and the whole meal cost us $5/person!

I really enjoyed this:

Every block they had this thing you could just push a button and the cops would show up.

We also went and ate the most divine cookies. I would have bought lots of them, but they only took cash and they were $4 each! Here are Jill (helped me find D.T. my first day at BYU when I didn't know how to get home from the Wilkinson Center), Deana (bonded at a dance party in October), Jenn Wheeler (friend from law school/quasi-NYC roommate) and Carrie Parker (my dad's previous roommate's daughter).

And after chicken and cookies we went to Shake Shack to get the best burgers and custard.

Sunday we went to church with Lexi and then had our infamous Central Park Photo Shoot. It was wonderful for me to spend the weekend with some of my law school friends who are now working for law firms in NYC--helps me appreciate my job when they say they have to work all the time (one guy said he was at work until 5 a.m. one day!) and can't do things like work at the temple because their schedule is too unpredictable. Three cheers for working for the federal government!!!

  1. Very nice.

Somehow those call boxes are somewhat less comforting than the blue-light specials on BYU campus.

Also, good call on the job choice. I totally agree. Which is why I keep telling all these multi-million dollar big-city firms that keep trying to hire me that I'm just not interested.

  2. I like the top picture! That we will use for future presidential campaign I can see the cover of People magazine now! PACHA sounds scary to me...I love dancing but creepy men and smoke is actually the basis of one of my reoccuring nightmares! EEEK!! What does Pacha mean or stand for anyways?
