I remember going to Vernal when I was a kid. We stopped by the dinosaur museum, and somehow my parents had made it sound (to my 8-year old mind) that there were real dinosaurs there. I was so excited--and rather disappointed!
The highlight of our time in Vernal (besides the temple) was definitely the Ranch Cafe, where we went to lunch. The chairs and tables were cow print, and there were statues of pigs all around. But it got better. I looked at the menu and saw the offerings:

Sadly, after studying the menu for twenty minutes, no server had yet appeared. And I noticed that no one in the restaurant even had food at their tables--and there were lots of servers all wandering around and talking in the corner. So we just got up and left and went to eat at Arby's.
I was sent to Vernal several times while working for a shady attorney. I drove all the way out there in a 96 Geo Prizm without A/C only to have the client not show up. Now I hate Vernal and shady attorneys.
