GRADES

Let me take a moment to talk about grades. Law school grades came out today. You might be thinking, "but Rachel, you took your last final 6 weeks ago?" and I would reply that you are correct, but because people like me write 30 pages during our 3-hour "type everything you possibly can" finals, it takes a long time to grade them.

And all I really want to say about grades is that to people in law school, they are life. They are everything. Their self-worth is based on a number, and for the first time in their lives they feel vulnerable about it so they start bragging about past academic accomplishments and it is ANNOYING! haha. But it's the weirdest place and the weirdest thing and I decided I didn't want to become a worse person because of school so last semester I tried to not be so obsessed/insane/intense about it and to still try and serve people - or at least be nice to them - while I was in school. And I did (well, I tried) and my grades were exactly the same. woo-hoo!!

The moral is: grades are overrated. As is studying. The end.
